Oakdale Home Meet on Saturday 5/19
1. Warmups for Oakdale: 6:45 am. As a coach I can't stress enough how important warmups are for a successful swim meet. Highly, highly, recommended as much as I can without calling it 'mandatory.'
2. Check-in: Due by 7:15. Swimmers need to be checked in at this time to swim in the meet. Check-in table will be located at the entrance of the pool (parking lot side of pool outside the black gate)
At the check-in table a swimmer highlights their name and finds out what their event numbers are. Common practice is for a swimmer to write their event numbers on their arms with sharpies provided at the check-in table.
Swimmers will also find out at this time if they are in any relays. (Medley Relay is at the beginning of the day and Free Relay is at the end of the day). If your swimmer is in a free relay at the end of the day it is important to stay so the relay team stays intact.
3. Team Meeting: 7:30. All swimmers and family gather together at the check-in table. Specific meet details are gone over at this time and our often described 'epic cheer of awesomeness' is performed as well.
4. Coaches at the Meet: All 11 and ups see Coach Ronny, all 9-10's see Coach Brian, all 8 and unders see Coach Ryan. The most important thing we ask of all swimmers at the meet: Coaches should be the last person a swimmer talks to before their race and the first one they talk to after their race (understand of course that younger swimmers might have guardians to escort them to the coaches). We will go over this more at the team meeting.
3. What to bring: 1. An 'Easy-up' if you have one to shade you from the sun during the day. Otherwise buddy up with another Oakdale Family and buy them food from the concession stand as a thank you (wink)
2. Goggles, Swimsuit, Towel, Food, Water......and your swimmer
